spring 2007 paris: balmain.

collections Uncategorized

christophe decarnin’s collection for balmain has, for me, been a highlight of the spring collections. the looks, a mix of deconstruction, greek, and space age, featured exquisite detailing and a freshness that spring should be about.

there were short micropleated dresses with asymmetrical necklines, shifts with balloon sleeves, flight jumpsuits with multiple zippers, deconstructed t-shirts with silver jodhpur pants or silver leaf detail vests, and empire waist minis with beaded bodices and tattered hems.

other stunners included this gold flecked minidress with square scattered sequins, a belted chiffon number with a pleated bodice and funnel sleeves, three quarter sleeve turtleneck shift with front draping and silver embroidery at the neckline, and a silver lame 70s style minidress.
