isaac mizrahi was named womenswear creative director at liz claiborne in january, and if you’re like me, you were wondering, “when is isaac’s first collection going to debut?” his contract with target ends at the end of the year, so it’s only fitting that the mizrahi era at claiborne will start this coming spring. wwd showed off some sketches from the collection, and at first glance, it looks like a combination of isaac’s former better label (isaac isaac mizrahi) and what he’s done at target. colors are bright, accessories are simple yet modern (white patent), and everything is very matchy matchy. the eveningwear (always mizrahi’s strength) looks fabulous. how will middle america feel about the new liz? time will tell when the collection hits stores. in the meantime, coutorture’s got all of the sketches here.
