spring 2006 new york: michael kors and y-3.

collections Uncategorized

michael kors, the other king of americana, used the west as a starting point for this collection, showing oversized khaki jackets with tiered lace skirts, eyelet bikinis, aztec print ponchos, and cropped pants worn with wooden heeled hurache sandals. for night, there were hammered silk gowns and halter dresses and chiffon tiered dresses with leather belts.

y-3, the adidas line designed by yohji yamamoto, showed in new york for the first time, and the collection this time around was more refined than in seasons past. black and white separates dominated the first half of the show, with girls and guys in sporty bikinis, blazers and tuxedo pants with the three stripes in sequins. it then moved into denim looks worn with patchwork tops and glittery tanks.
