resort 2010: oscar de la renta.

collections

with a “recession-be-damned” attitude, oscar de la renta staged a full-fledged runway show for his resort collection and the clothes had a more universal appeal than his last few outings. while the first half of the show was very french (boucle jackets and suits, high waisted wide leg pants, shifts and dropped waist flirty dresses), he later moved into a more island feel, with silk graphic tunics, embroidered blouses, ikat print dresses, and bolder colored cocktail numbers. evening is where he really showed off a range of dresses and gowns for clients young and old, from a high neck ruffle front sheath to a tulle hem flapper dress to a taffeta balloon hem gown with jeweled neckline. one thing is for sure: the oscar client will have no problem finding something to love.
