model as muse.

the glossies

i will fully admit it: i love victoria beckham. she has a great, self depricating sense of self and an innate sense of what works for her stylewise. she knows what she is and who she is, and she doesn’t try to be anything else–mother, wife, muse, designer. there were rumours that beckham was going to finally grace the cover of u.s. vogue, which i was very much looking forward to as october is usually when the mag covers couture. i could see posh now, vamping it up in dior or looking like the supreme dominatrix in givenchy. unfortunately, those rumours didn’t come to pass, but it is still great to see her on the cover of october’s elle. joe zee and the team do an amazing job of bringing out the inner model in beckham, and she never looks as good as when she’s gracing its pages.

both are probably elle’s best covers this year…maybe even the best american fashion mag covers of the year. the art direction, styling and photography is interesting, inventive, and bold, and makes me yearn for the entire editorial. zee and becks are a match in glossies heaven.
