living in san francisco and being so close to silicon valley, it’s great to hear about companies who are embracing the intersection of fashion and tech. one of my favorites is poshmark, an iphone-based app where you can shop the closet of fashionable members and list your own items. what’s unique about poshmark are posh parties, real-time shopping events that happen right in the app with themes such as “designer accessories” and “sequins and stripes.” you can connect with people you already follow on other social networking sites, so the items will be your style and from people you trust. snap a photo of an item you’d like to sell, transform it with one of the unique filters, enter in price and other details and you’re done–it’s that simple. if your item sells, poshmark sends you a prepaid shipping label, so all you have to do is package it up and drop it off!
next wednesday night, poshmark is hosting a live posh party with a party dress theme co-hosted by bay area bloggers, including me! if you’re nearby, rsvp and head down to acre/sf in north beach. you can also join in on the fun by downloading the poshmark app (it’s free!), connecting with me (my username is kimair), and listing items in your closet that aren’t getting much wear. hope to see you (literally or virtually) on wednesday!
