after a well received ready-to-wear collection last march, alessandra faccinetti had her first couture presentation today and overall she did an amazing job staying true to the heritage of the house, while being modern and appealing to today’s couture buyers (and hollywood).
there was alot of embellishment though, maybe too much…i think the looks that were most successful were ones easy on the bling: a clean longer coats worn over multitiered skirts, a sleek beaded bolero topping a draped chiffon skirt, a futuristic cocoon jacket. the eveningwear is where she really excelled…i loved the “milkmaid” dress with sheer sleeves, and the finale, a draped red chiffon number that valentino himself would be proud of.
