i love visionaire. it’s an art book, magazine, showpiece and collector’s item all rolled into one. i only own one issue of the mag (if you can call it that), which is #37, vreeland memos. they are 150 memos in a red box (from 1969-1972) dictated from vogue editrix diana vreeland to her secretary and the subject matter runs the gamut of subjects from halston to dog fashions to miniskirts.
visionaire #52, out october 1, is guest-edited by one of my favorites, marc jacobs, and he teams up with mert alas and marcus piggott on a series of intimate portraits of jacobs’ picks for style leaders in new york, london, and paris. the pics include scarlett johansson, drew barrymore, lil’ kim, gisele bundchen, stella mccartney and more, and the 192-page book comes wrapped in a custom gold monogram miroir case. the price is steep at $350, but it will be a collector’s item later plus you can probably use the cover as a portfolio.
