it’s really easy during the holidays to get overwhelmed and stressed with so much going on from holiday parties to finishing up work for the end of the year to shopping for gifts, it’s usually go-go-go. it can challenging to make space to take care of yourself, especially when you’re doing so much for others. today i’m partnering with EILEEN FISHER to talk about how i’m taking time for me this holiday season.

part of what helps me feel good around the holidays is looking good. i’ve been giving EILEEN FISHER to my family members as gifts for years, but i’ve only recently looked at the brand for myself. not only are the silhouettes timeless and mix effortlessly with whatever is in your closet, but the fabrics are gorgeous and easy to wear. the holiday events i had last week were a mix of office parties and more casual open houses, and i found pieces from eileen fisher that fit the bill. for the work party, i paired a charcoal velvet bias cut midi skirt with a chunky sweater and black and white leopard heels. the house party was more low-key, so i wore a black silk pleat sleeve top with coated skinny jeans, a velvet blazer, kitten heel mules and sparkly statement earrings. the women in my life also lead busy lives and need pieces that can work for many occasions, so i’m gifting this luxe cashmere scarf (perfect for everyday and travel), this velvet tee (that will look great with jeans or tailored pants), and a ribbed cashmere sweater. i’d love to see this silk blazer under the tree (you know i love a good blazer), even better if these wide leg pants were with it (to be worn together with a fab pair of heels or a graphic tee and sneakers). i know that no matter if i’m treating myself or those i love, i will find something beautiful at eileen fisher.

speaking of travel, taking time for exploration is another way i’m making space for myself this holiday. i’m taking a vacation with a friend to a place i’ve never been and i’m so excited. it’s always nice to get out of your normal routine and see more of the world; for me it’s not only good for the soul but also good for the creative juices. i’ll come back in the new year relaxed, refreshed, and recharged and ready to take on 2019.

no matter how you spend the holidays, make sure you slow down and enjoy them and take time to do something for you. it can be as small as watching a favorite movie and doing an at-home mask to traveling to the other side of the world.
