if you’ve been following this blog for a while, i’ve written many times about my love for modern citizen, a sf-based, women-owned brand started by jess lee, who was a colleague of mine at gap. i love seeing how the company has grown from its small beginnings to one that has a thriving online business and stores in sf, new york, and most recently dallas.
their store in sf is so serene and inviting, the perfect respite from the crowds of union square. i stopped by there a few weeks ago knowing that i wanted this khaki shirtdress, and it did not disappoint. from the perfect length to the spot-on details (oversized tortoise buttons, kimono-style tie waist, shirt tail hem and…pockets!) to the just oversized enough fit, this dress is a winner. and one that transitions from work to evening, desk to weekend effortlessly. now i’m contemplating if i need the black one too!
