the new look: a fresh perspective.

the new look Uncategorized

i love getting to flex my styling muscles, especially with guys, on someone other than d. so when my friend paul and i were talking about sometimes getting stuck in a style rut, we had the fab idea of picking out looks for each other. we used to work together at the gap, and now he’s parlayed his love for fashion into a blog, urbanite suburbanite and a personal styling business. here are two looks he did for me (perfect for san francisco’s indian summer), and tomorrow i’ll have the two looks i’ve styled for him.

“i’ve been obsessed with full skirts lately, so i picked this fuchsia skirt for kim.  pairing it with a neutral shirt and belt maintains the skirt’s star status—but a pair of statement shoes command equal attention. how to update this look for fall? add a simple black moto jacket, and trade the sequin shoes for a pair of blue suede booties.”

“continuing with my full skirt obsession is this below-the-knee blue print one. a chambray shirt keeps it from feeling too dressy, while knotting it at the waist shows off kim’s figure. and yellow heels keep it fun.”
