s/s 2008 paris: yves saint laurent rive gauche.

collections Uncategorized

ysl designer stefano pilati is seeing stars, at least that’s what he used as embellishment in his spring collection. plastic stars were used as decoration on belts, shirts, and as a pattern on coats and skirts, for a collection that was serious but also whimsical. the color palette was also quiet: black, gray, khaki, and white, with touches of cobalt, lilac, teal and plum.

the looks included wing shoulder jackets, flowy knee length skirts, loose cropped and cuffed pants, oversized blazers and vests, logo emblazoned sweatshirts, star-button cardigans, pintucked breezy shift dresses and others with asymetrical hems.

the last part of the show focused on soft suiting and eveningwear. collarless jackets were worn over pencil skirts, boatneck dresses with ruching at the shoulder and waist, silk dresses with sequin multicolor stars, high waist skirts, cropped tux jackets, and one shoulder silk gowns.
