i know that many a magazine, editor, and blogger cites kate moss as a fashion icon, and i’m not disagreeing. even though i am not as in love with her style as many others, i recognize that she has spawned many a trend and look-a-likes. i am more inspired by red carpet kate, who is just as ease in a dior homme tux as she is in a vintage fur and topshop minidress. although my day-to-day style tends to go more modern/classic than boho, every now and then kate’s daytime style is interesting to me in a way that makes me think, ‘why didn’t i think of that?’ this ensemble, which she wore to lunch with beau jamie hince on her birthday, is so simple and straightforward in its elegance. the greys are all in the same cool vein, but not matchy. the silk blouse is in a peachy/pink hue is so undetectable that it’s almost neutral, and complements her skintone. she makes it more laid back by adding gold layered necklaces, vintage-y diamond earrings and sunglasses, and a bit more uptown with the chanel 2.55 reissue. it’s the perfect look for work, date night, or a weekend brunch…one that i can’t wait to try myself. (oh, and happy belated birthday ms. moss!)
