day 1 of ny fashion week saw some trends come to light right away, including sherbet pastels and gorgeous prints. bcbg designer max azria keep things light and fresh, utlizing silhouettes that stand away from the body, and springtime shades like cream, mint, peach, lemon yellow, pearl grey, and lilac. he also added nice detailing in the form of eyelet trims, embroidery, lace and pintucking. looks included v-neck short dresses with dolman sleeves, drawstring waist short jumpsuits, shadow stripe bloomers and tanks, lace trim trapeze tops, off the shoulder shift dresses, and cuffed hem capris and eyelet trim capelets.

kai milla presented her third collection yesterday, and it included grown up looks of silk strapless gowns and halter tops, wide leg linen trousers, jersey knee length dresses with ruching, and silk print tunics. i can’t wait to see more of this collection, and more from this talented designer.

ashleigh verrier, the 2005 co-designer of the year from Parsons, showed more sophisticated looks this time around. looks included pencil skirts with peek-a-boo pleating, silk chiffon short sleeve shirts, flutter sleeve dresses with lace panels, print strapless hourglass dresses with scallop edge shrugs, ruffled hem minis, lace corsets with sailor shorts, and sequin trim shifts.
