Fashion Week Daily is reporting that Gilles Deacon, formerly of Gucci and Bottega Veneta has snagged the Givenchy womens ready to wear position (formerly held by Brit Julien MacDonald). For Deacon, a model and editor fave, this will be his first shot at the bigs. Other front-runners for this job were Roland Mouret (my personal choice), Sophia Kokosalaki, Martin Grant, Zac Posen, Alber Elbaz (don’t take him from Lanvin!), and Isaac Mizrahi.
