the new look: suede days.

i never quite understood the appeal of leather or suede shorts—it does seem like an oxymoron doesn’t it? wearing a fabric that’s not really breathable and can be heavy in the warmest months of the year. but then people started sporting them in the early spring and fall, and later with tights and booties. i found this pair at the h&m near my parents’ house shopping with my mom a few months back. i wore them twice in the week i was home, but then they were stored away once i arrived back in sf. but really, they’re perfect for our non-humid summers. they’re faux, so not as weighty as most suede can be, and they have a nice, polished look to them, which lent itself to dressing up with this drapey off-the-shoulder top and my beloved low-heel bam bam sandals.
