last night i had the pleasure of meeting alexis maybank, one of the co-founders of gilt groupe, who was in town for a book signing and q & a event hosted by gilt city. i’m so excited to dig into by invitation only, a book written by maybank and alexandra wilkis wilson on taking gilt from idea to a billion dollar company. as a designer, i’m interested in learning about the visual branding of the site, and of course there’s the fashion angle, but as an entrepreneur and co-founder of fashfilmfest, i also want to get insight on working and growing a venture with your friends. as annie, adelle, and i start working on next year’s festival, i’m sure there will be some great learnings in those pages!
